I’m really excited to share my latest creative adventure with you!

Over the last few months I worked very closely with Whitney from Bel Kai designs to create a signature necklace for the Shutter Sisters “Capture Collection”. I must say that it’s been a thrilling experience to see this little lotus I shot in Bali years ago, take a new life and become a talisman of sorts. The lotus has been a long time favorite symbol of mine representing possibility (you can see that reflected on my website design!). So it is really special for me to be diversifying my business and using my photography to pass that message forward. I’m just so captivated by the beauty of this flower and how it emerges from the muddy waters, unfolding every morning, petal by petal, till full-bloom. Such a divine process! The lotus helps me in meditation by calming my “monkey mind”, and it also inspires me to keep reaching for the light when things look murky. Not a bad omen to have in this tough financial times, right?  If you ask me, “Possibility” is the perfect gift to demonstrate your love for photography and encourage yourself or someone you love in the pursuit of all creative dreams.

So head over to the Shutter Sisters site today for  a chance to win a necklace giveaway. Or if you can’t wait, go straight to Bel Kai and get yours!

And if I may ask, “How do you diversify your business? In which ways are you showcasing your photography?”

ps: love goes to my inspiring friend Thea, who’s been making beautiful photography necklaces for as long as I can remember.

I diversify my business by continuing to consider: “what do I want and need- what do I wish existed?” I think many times when we think about business, we tend to focus on “they”: “what would ‘they’ buy?” or “what do ‘they’ want?” When you stop and realize that YOU are just as much as a consumer as THEY, I think you discover your best products. This is a question that doesn’t go out of style because your wants & needs are always changing and just as much influenced by current events/trends as those you mean to attract… As a bonus, I think it helps you to attract the kind of customers who will really appreciate your offerings because they are like-minded individuals who appreciated your solution to the mutual need/want you both had.

So the short answer= get personal!

Just an example: I wanted a cigarette case to use for a wallet… so I eventually discovered a company that would manufacture cigarette cases with my artwork on them… now I sell them because lots of people see mine and ask me where they can get one, too. PS I love your necklace- that turned out really stylish!
